Now, new Real coach Julen Lopetegui will need to convince him that he plays a big part of his plans.

What doesn’t help matters is the fact that Real president Florentino Perez is eyeing the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.

It also transpired that Manchester United opted against making a?serious play for Ronaldo. Even though it was clear that a move away from Los Blancos was inevitable.

A return to the Premier League was certainly one of?many options to be considered. But instead, the Red Devils decided kept their focus on Bale.

Woodward harboured a strong desire to sign the former Tottenham winger since 2013. Admittedly, Mourinho is also an admirer and was keen to bring him to the club last summer.

United?s manager is also interested in adding Chelsea?s Brazilian international?Willian?to his lineup.
