Chelsea are off to Wembley as they won against Liverpool 2-1 on aggregate at the Capital One Cup Semifinals. Branislav Ivanovic scored the lone goal for the blues in an exciting match which went on to extra time.

Mourinho started the game with Cahill on the bench and Zouma replacing him. Liverpool went with the same squad which faced Chelsea on the first leg. The game started off well with both the teams creating good chances. The game saw some refreeing errors though, especially on the 22 minute when Costa was bought down by Skrtel. The Spanish international could also have been sent off as he seemed to have stamped on Can. The match saw some spectacular saves from both Belgian goalkeepers, Simon Mignolet and Thibaut Courtois, the latter making two superb saves one from Moreno and another from Coutinho.

The second half started with bad news for the Chelsea fans as Fabregas got involved in an accidental collision with his teammate John Terry as the duo slid in for a tackle. The injury is somewhat worrying for the Blues as they need to face Manchester City this weekend. Ramires was bought in as a replacement for the Spaniard. The half saw many great attacking moves from both the teams but not one found the back of the net.

As the game went on to extra time, Chelsea had the advantage as they had an away goal with them. Mario Balotelli was bought in as a substitute for Markovic, but the Italian failed to impress yet again. The deciding goal came from Branislav Ivanovic as the Serbian rose high to bullet a header into the ceiling of the net from a Willian free kick. The hosts held on to that score till the end as they went through to the finals after tightly contested two legged semifinals.
