Red Bull driver Max Verstappen sealed victory at the Austrian Grand Prix ahead of Charles LeClerc. Finland’s Valtteri Bottas was 3rd ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton respectively. In all honesty, it was an epic race with duels up and down the order and Max Verstappen pulled of one of the hardest charges to win.

Charles LeClerc was leading for much of the race and all the time, the Monegasque driver looked like a surefire winner. However, Max Verstappen had other ideas and chased him down all the way until a last lap showdown.

In the process, Max Verstappen had the honour of breaking Mercedes’ winning streak at long last. It was also the first time this season that Lewis Hamilton finished outside the podium. Coming to Charles LeClerc, the young Ferrari driver was gutted at once again missing out on a maiden win. He said, “Overall the race was good… I don’t know [about Verstappen pass] I was on the outside [at Turn 3] but he didn’t leave space [on lap 69] and I didn’t have any chance to pass back.”

This win was also Honda’s first win, which was a giant weight of their backs and a huge gloat at their dissenters. However, it was a mixed day in the office for Red Bull, as Pierre Gasly was in the lower end of the top 10 and a lap down.
