McLaren Finally Beat Mercedes at Something

The opening day of pre-season testing kicked off earlier today and all teams scrambled to be first on track. It was literally a race between McLaren and Mercedes to gain track position. Surprisingly, it was McLaren who won that little battle as they outmuscled Mercedes. But the real story was the sound emanating from the cars, pure music to the ears.

Usually, the sound of an F1 car does wonders for the fans and it all starts with the screaming V10s and V8s. Then, with the V6 turbo era, the sound changed but the enthusiasm for it remained sky high.

Now, just hearing those engines roar once again, is enough to herald the new season. But coming back to the 2019 season itself, things will be interesting to see how the F1 hierarchy irons itself out.
