A few years ago, Red Bull pulled off the same stunt when they unveiled a black and white car, dubbed ‘the Camo-Bull’. However, it proved to be a red herring and the Austrian team were back in their iconic colours.
Some teams that shied away from tradition were Toro Rosso, who opted for a different livery in 2017, rather than look nearly the same as sister team, Red Bull.
