Many are calling it an end to LeBron James’ prowess with his disappointing departure from the 2021 season. He has achieved immense heights in these 18 years, but is it all coming down to the last chapter?

One of the finest players of basketball, LeBron James is 36 years old at the moment. It’s a notable age to compare and contrast his achievements with the great Michael Jordan.

There have been numerous debates over who is better and who deserves that GOAT title at the end of it. But, this one’s more concerned with what the two greats accomplished until 36 years old.

Michael Jordan was 38 years old when he made a comeback from his second NBA retirement. But, excluding his limited years with the Washington Wizards, Jordan was a complete legend at 36 years. He was a 6-time champion, 3-time All-Star MVP, 10-time NBA scoring champion, 5-time league MVP, and the most remembered every time he stepped on the court.

It would take a lot more to fit in MJ’s dominance in the league. However, at the same time, if we ponder upon a 36-year LeBron James, it’s a fascinating yet lesser tale than Michael Jordan.

Bron is a 4-time NBA champion, 3-time All-star MVP, 2008 NBA scoring champion, and 4-time league MVP. Well, one thing that negates the success is getting defeated for the first time in a first-round playoff series at 36 years of age.

Where is the GOAT debate heading?

After Phoenix Suns thrashed the King’s army off the postseason, it’s been a downward showing curve for LeBron. In contrast, Michael had his share of downfalls at the beginning of his career. But, with time and age, he grew up to be better every year.

LeBron fans have particularly lost a fair share of GOAT arguments with this year’s season. People and many analysts have associated that tag with MJ for the time being.

But, LeBron is definitely considered one of the most talented players to play the game in the present times.
