Notably, both players faced the heat of the fans for their repetitive failure. It eventually put them out of favor, and the Yankees released them to make way for the other players. Many predicted worse for the star players, but against the popular perception, they are doing great. 

Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks Continue to Shine Moving Away From New York Yankees

It was a tough season for Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks until they were at the New York Yankees. Both players had averages below 0.200 and displayed a lack of clinical performance. The Bronx-based team made an early departure for Hicks, while Donaldson left New York City several weeks ago. But when it comes to fate, both have done better with the beards on per renowned Yankees insider Bryan Hoch.

The MLB insider also pointed out the surge in their forms and how they will play in the postseason. “Josh Donaldson & Aaron Hicks will both be playing in the postseason,” the update read. The news came after Donaldson joined his former teammate with a great home run that clocked 110.7 MPH for his new team, the Milwaukee Brewers.

Now if the latest performances are considered, both outfielders have a better record, which brings the question: did the Yankees make a big mistake in releasing the duo? Or was it something else?
