Okay, time for some context. The 26-year-old shared, “I do remember right before I was going to walk down the aisle, my dad was like, ‘We didn’t get Ohtani. He signed with the Dodgers’. And I was like,Damn, that sucks‘.”

It turned out that while Manoah’s wedding was in progress, the Blue Jays were failing to secure their baseball future with the coveted Shohei Ohtani. The two-way superstar had signed a record-breaking $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, leaving the Blue Jays and their fans in shambles.

But, despite the grim news, Manoah found humor in the situation. He announced the same to everyone, including his Blue Jays teammates present at the ceremony. And according to Stark, “Everybody laughed.” Now that’s a moment that is hard to forget.

Though Manoah handled this well, it seems like this situation did not sit well with fans. The fact that the Blue Jays, who were apparent forerunners in the chase for Ohtani, could not secure the Unicorn was like rubbing salt on the wounds of fans who were just recovering from a season that did not turn out that well. More so for Manoah owing to his ineffective delivery.
