Knowing that A-Rod’s had a difficult childhood, the former Yankee has done a tremendous job to become what he is today. Alex Rodriguez revealed his two wishes that would help his mother not to work ever again

Per a two-year-old interview with Danica Patrick, Alex Rodriguez confessed his two dreams of helping his mother. The Yankees legend admitted that 30 days felt like three days at the time.

“I got down on my knees when I was 12 years old. And I said, “dear lord if I can have two wishes; one, can you slow down time for my mother? Because every 30 days felt like every three days. And I felt the pressure of her having to pay her bills,” Alex Rodriguez said.

A-Rod wanted to become a landlord because he did not want his mother to pay the bills.

“And then, the other one is if I can ever trade places with the landlord and be the landlord… If I ever get that opportunity I am going to take that chance, and then mom won’t have to work ever again…”

A-Rod needed only $48,000 to turn his future upside down

When asked about his investment, Alex Rodriguez said he needed just $48,000 to make his first move to become a millionaire. And with that tiny investment, the former Yankee built a business worth around $400 million.

“I was 22 when I had my first opportunity to make my first investment… I needed a $48,000 down payment, I bought a duplex… And I grew that portfolio from two units to 12 or 13,000 apartment units in about 14 states all over the southeast,” A-Rod added.
