Just like he owned the baseball world, former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is doing exceptionally well in his post-retirement career. Although A-Rod has enjoyed immense success in his professional life, the former pro baseballer’s personal life probably has not been the same.

Alex separated from his wife, Cynthia Scurtis, in 2008. It was one of the tough decisions of Rodriguez’s life. Though the two are not together anymore, they still share a cordial relationship a decade after their divorce. Recalling the entire case, the former partners once shared a side of the decision, which helped them overcome the difficult phase.

Rodriguez Scurtis married in 2002. They had two daughters together, Natasha and Ella. Though the two got separated in 2008, remained good on terms. Years after their separation, they often spend time together with their daughters. Given that the same is not seen with people who divorce, the couple once shared that it is because they always kept their Kids first.

During a conversation with ABC News, Cynthia shared, “We always put the kids first. So that it would grow and have emotional wellness and not feel a lot of the tugging that you see, sometimes that happens in families that are divorced.”

Rodriguez, though, had some regrets but pointed out that it made him a better person. He shared, “I think everything happens for a reason. Sure, there are some regrets along the way, but I think you don’t have to be defined by those mistakes. Yeah, how you come back matters, too.”
