Aaron Judge had a visually spectacular MLB season this year. He empowered the New York Yankees to clinch the zonal crown and enter the playoffs. On the personal front, he had set MLB records amid a home run frenzy. However, the end of the season also brought along an end to his Yankees’ term contract.
At the same time, another star performer from the Yankees’ ranks, who just turned into a free agent, has extended his contract. He is none other than the Yankees’ first baseman Anthony Rizzo. Alongside Judge’s 62 historic home runs, Rizzo made his own valuable contributions for the Yankees with 32 homers.

And recently, Rizzo extended his Yankees’ contract for a two-year $40 million guarantee deal.

Meanwhile, MLB insider Bryan Hoch shared Anthony Rizzo’s comments on Aaron Judge, which quoted, “He’s in the driver’s seat. This is a position that not too many guys get to be in with the historic season. I think he’s going to enjoy this process to hear what teams have to say. He’s earned this.”

Speaking with the ESPN network, Rizzo also said, “I hope Judge stays just for the sake of the game. Because you see a lot of franchise icons not getting what they deserve for the team that they have done so much for. My wife, Emily, and I really love it here. We love the city… the energy… Yankee Stadium.”

“We love going to Yankee Stadium and playing at that park every day. And you look at the team, the New York Yankees are a team that, this organization, this franchise, that has consistently put winning products on the field.”
Aaron Judge’s MLB career and a look at his potential future
As per common knowledge, Judge became the American League’s highest seasonal home run scorer this year. Playing as the Yankees’ outfielder since 2016, he has become a four-time All-Star player. Speculations of him potentially joining the San Francisco Giants have made the rounds in the MLB circuit. Nonetheless, Judge has not yet spoken a word regarding his future MLB alliance.
