Atlanta Braves’ disappointment is profound. Thursday night, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked the Braves out of the playoffs with a 3-1 win. Game 4 of their NLDS marked the Phillies’ 2nd straight NLCS berth. With that, the time has come for the Braves to pack their bags and head home. One player in particular, though, had a deafeningly loud silence.

During the clubhouse gathering of the Atlanta Braves, this potential MVP’s reaction was nothing short of eerie. While the other player did their media due diligence and stood responsible for what unfurled for the Braves, Ronald Acuna Jr. took off. Apparently, he had to go catch a bus.

Was It a Weak Move or Just Frustration for the Atlanta Braves?

Acuña’s game had a 0 for 4. He walked twice and was struck by a pitch one time. In addition to that, he scored three runs and batted .143 for the whole series. He was robbed on a deep ball hit to left center with the bases loaded. It’s hard to ignore that there were negative tweets about how Acuna showed poor sportsmanship while the rest of the team stood accountable for their playoff fiasco. Not a classic Acuna move!

The Braves held the lead position in the league when it came to run total. So much so that they finished the regular season with the highest record. They had high expectations for their World Series ambition. And then, for their subsequent consecutive year, they lost the battle to the Phillies in four games in the National League Division Series. That’s painful, and by avoiding the press and difficult questions, Acuna did not set a great example.
