Alex Rodriguez was a pure entertainer in the game. In a career that spanned over two decades, the former New York Yankees star achieved almost everything a baseball player dreams of.

From the narrow lanes of Miami to playing for one of the biggest sports franchises, Alex Rodriguez came a long way. However, he has also lost a substantial fortune while becoming a superstar in American sports.

Earlier, during the late 90s, A-Rod was the next big thing in the baseball world. A serial hitter from the plate with calmness, MLB pundits and fans considered him MLB’s golden boy. And he even became one of the most successful players in baseball. But by the time he retired, A-Rod knew he did something wrong which ruined his legacy in baseball.

Per Sports Illustrated, the former Yankee admitted that by the time he realized his mistakes, it was too late for him. Notably, while being at the peak of his career, Alex Rodriguez made several mistakes, including using PEDs, multiple failed relationships, and his beef with Derek Jeter.

“I had it backwards,” Alex Rodriguez said. “I tried to say the right things, to be manipulative, instead of doing the right things.”

The PEDs scandal was the worst thing that happened to the Yankees legend. Not only did MLB ban him for a year, but A-Rod also lost the legacy and respect he had built over two decades.

Had he not received the ban from Major League Baseball, A-Rod would have been in the same company as Derek Jeter, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, and a few more Yankees. And since he has got the tag of using PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs), A-Rod might never get into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
