Not only is their playing style under the question mark but also their entire setup, including Brian Cashman. To answer this, the Yankees have pressed the panic button with tough decisions, including firing the hitting coach.

Yankees have been experiencing a streak of offensive struggles. Resulting in the Pinstripes relieving hitting coach Dillon Lawson of his duties. Though the decision was to the fans’ liking, who demanded a change in approach, they are still unhappy.

Yankees part ways with hitting coach Dillon Lawson following another disappointing outing

The Yankees are one team that has always been known for power hitters and high scorers. But this season, things have stayed have been otherwise. In the last five appearances, they have scored only 11 runs, possibly prompting the Yankees to fire the hitting coach, who has failed to perform his duties.

Renowned Yankees insider, Bryan Hoch, shared this news on Twitter. It read, “The Yankees have officially dismissed hitting coach Dillon Lawson. Brian Cashman has never fired a coach in-season. He once told me that he doesn’t believe in doing so and that you need to evaluate each season in full. Clearly, he’d seen enough.” Reportedly, in the latest series loss against the Cubs, the Yankees offense failed miserably.

Although the hitting coach was under fire for long, the criticism increased further after Anthony Volpe’s comments about his stance following a correction. Moreover, the team had high expectations for the hitting coach given their $280 million payroll expenditure, and this was a significant factor in their decision to terminate their services.
