The New York Mets have had an incredibly busy off-season so far, pulling off a number of deals and contracts. They brought in several players while also tying down some of their own players to new deals. One such player is none other than centerfielder Brandon Nimmo. He explored free agency before signing with the Mets on an 8-year $162 million pact.

Nimmo provided the Mets with a reliable hitting option and solid defense in center field. He will probably retire as a Met after this deal. Most recently, he opened up on an expensive purchase and a nostalgic possession.

Many MLB baseballers have signed new deals this off-season and a lot of them have made big purchases. Brandon Nimmo is one of those players. After signing a $162 million contract with the New York Mets, he bought himself a new car. An Audi RS Q8, to be more precise, which would’ve set him back more than $100,000. But Nimmo confirmed that he will be keeping his old car, a Nissan Altima, due to the nostalgic memories associated with it. SNY shared a video of the Mets star explaining his purchase on Twitter.

In the Tweet, they said, “After signing his extension with the Mets, Brandon Nimmo bought himself an Audi but is keeping his Nissan Altima”. SNY also shared what Nimmo said about the car, “She is worth more to me than probably anyone else, nostalgic-wise. I’ve got a lot of memories with her”.

The Mets are aiming to win a World Series in 2023

The 2022 season ended badly for the New York Mets. They were knocked out in the Wild Card Series during the postseason after a 101-win regular season. Mets owner Steve Cohen believes that if they can make deep runs into the playoffs regularly, they will eventually win.

According to the New York Post, Cohen said, “Once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. You’ve got to keep putting yourself there. If we keep putting ourselves there, things are gonna fall our way at some point or another.” The Mets will depend on Nimmo and other signings to get them there.

What do you think about Nimmo keeping his Nissan Altima despite buying an Audi RS Q8? Do you also have such quirks?
