The day September 23, 2022, is going to be written down in MLB history as one of the historic days for the game. That day, Cardinals designated hitter Albert Pujols hit his career’s 699 and 700 home runs. With it, he became a member of the group of elites to ever touch the 700 homer line.

Before Pujols, there are only three players who crossed the 700 mark, and all three are baseball legends. Pujols has now acquired fourth place dethroning the Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.  

Now, after hitting the 700th, it is natural for Pujols, as a player, to want the ball back as a great memory. But the fan who caught that ball has now refused to give it back to the baseball player.

Dodger Stadium, home to the LA Dodgers, witnessed history being written down by the Cardinals’ star player, Albert ‘The Machine’ Pujols. 

However, to Pujols’ dismay, the fan who caught the ball refused to give the ball back. The man got approached by authorities and also was presented with multiple offers. But, he denied them all and left the stadium with the historic ball.

Albert acquired fourth place when he hit the 697th home run of his career. Before him, Rodriguez was in fourth place. 

The third place is acquired by none other than the Hall of Famer Babe Ruth for hitting 714 home runs. While on second place sits former home run king and Hall of Famer Hank Aaron with 755 home runs. At the top stands the current disputed home run king, Barry Bonds, for hitting 762 home runs in his career. He stands disputed to this day only because of his alleged use of PEDs.
