“Can Let Us Win One Game”: Philadelphia Phillies Star Trea Turner Makes Humble Plea to the New York Yankees After Poor Start

The world of baseball has seen many budding talented athletes come out on top with their excellent performances in the World Baseball Classic. Trea Turner, who played for Team USA, turned the tide in the favor of his team on numerous occasions with his soaring home runs. He was a cornerstone player who led the team to the finals of the world’s grandest stage of international baseball. 

Turner truly proved his mettle on the international stage ballpark and now has come back with a new perspective on what it means to be great in the game. Now that the light of dawn fell upon a new season of baseball, his MLB team, the Philadelphia Phillies, is yet to see the same success. However, the shortstop hasn’t lost his warmth and humor during the tumultuous first week of the season. In a recent interview, the Phillies SS had an endearing statement about his rivals, New York Yankees, who they are playing in an ongoing series.

It seems like Trea Turner is not just a master of sending balls flying, but also a witty charmer. During a recent interview, he won the hearts of fans with his lively humor-filled response when asked what is the one thing he would ask from New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone. Turner simply quipped, “Yeah, can [they] let us win one game?” Emphasizing the one. Fans on Twitter are simply delighted by his answer and are pouring in their love for him. 

The slugger’s words have struck a chord with fans as they await the next game. The Philadelphia Phillies have already won one game against the Yankees while losing one, and the third of the series is just around the corner.

Many are also expressing that Trea Turner’s request might be heard soon, given the lineup that the New York Yankees have currently. With many players on the injured list as well as underwhelming players making it to the lineup, the future looks bleak for the Yankees.

It remains to be seen what the third game of the series has in store for the Bronx Bombers and the Phillies, but it’s bound to be a good one!

Trea Turner’s attitude toward the game is refreshing

It turns out, behind the charm and the wit, there also lies a class act in Philadelphia Phillies Trea Turner. The athlete was further asked about a New York Yankees pitcher that he finds easy to hit. Turner, after laughing, refused to answer, saying, “If I had one, I would never tell you.” After which, they both laughed.

He continued, “This is just bad all around. I would never do that.” His respect for his rivals was awfully refreshing and certainly a delight to see!
