It has been a disappointing season for the New York Yankees. The team which has been the most successful in the past is languishing at the bottom in the 2023 season. There were promises in the middle of the season with few steady results, but there had been a complete U-turn since Aaron Judge got injured. The team has badly missed him on the offense and his overall leadership.
With nothing working, there are questions. Will the Yankees make any move before the trade ends? Journalist Ken Rosenthal has tried to answer this question with an overall breakdown of the Yankees’ needs and what they can have.

While being a guest in the Foul Territory’s episode, he answered the situation surrounding the Yankees. He added that the team should not depend on Judge, as there is no guarantee of him hitting on the return. Ken also addressed the injury fear and said the Yankees should have recruitment. He said, “I do expect them to perhaps try to get younger, better, and cheaper while still improving.”
While calling the situation challenging, Ken shared the reality that Yankees must know. He said, “It’s threading the needle, not easy, but they just can’t simply go in there as buyers and I don’t believe they can go in there simply as sellers.” The situation is challenging for the Yankees, but the management is working on improvements.

Improving the Offense is the First Objective
The Yankees have struggled mainly for the offense. Given that they are not making enough runs, it has not supported the pitchers. GM Brian Cashman addressed this situation and said they are trying to get a consistent bat. It started the rumors of them going for Juan Soto or others, with fans syncing with the emotions.
Now, Rosenthal focused on it too and there are high chances of the Yankees signing a player for the longer future in mind. Who do you think the Yankees should sign in the coming days? Let us know in the comments.
