Derek Jeter’s Ex-Teammate Shares a Memorable Golf Moment With Miami Heat Legend Dwyane Wade

Back in 2019, two sporting superstars bid farewell to their sport. CC Sabathia, who spent the final ten seasons of his career in New York, and Dwyane Wade, who took the last few steps of his storied NBA career with the Miami Heat, who he started off with, in 2003. Now, the two potential future Hall of Fame members came together in CC Sabathia’s Yankees home and played an intense game of golf.
Born in California, CC Sabathia grew up in Fairfield before he moved to Alpine, New Jersey, with his entire family when he signed with the New York Yankees.

Sabathia, who recently made an appearance at Jeter’s Turn2Foundation event, spent a day in New Jersey with Heat’s star Dwyane Wade, who made 13 All-Star appearances in his career, with three NBA Championships.

After spending eight seasons with the Tribe, CC moved to Milwaukee but finally moved to New York for the final ten years of his career. All through his career, CC Sabathia was a force to reckon with and a loyal teammate. All in all, he made six All-Star appearances, won the AL Cy Young award in 2007, the World Series with New York in 2009, and also led the MLB wins chart in 2009 and 2019.
Sabathia bid farewell to his pitching career in 2019, and in 2022, he returned to the MLB as a special assistant to Commissioner Rob Manfred.
