‘Clean Records Matter!’- Amidst Aaron Judge’s Chase of 62nd Home Run, Roger Maris Jr. Takes Another Dig at Disputed MLB Legends Over Single-Season Home-Run Record

Currently, Aaron Judge is having his career-best season. The New York Yankees star is on a hitting spree this season. With 61 home runs already smashed, Judge is most likely to break the single-season home-run record in the American League.

And now when he has already equaled decades-old Roger Maris’ (61) home run record, the late Yankee’s son, Roger Maris Jr; took a dig at the other MLB legends like Barry Bonds, and Mark McGwire, who have already smashed over 70 home runs in a season in their professional careers.

Roger Maris Jr. backs Aaron Judge to be the new home run king

It is no secret that Barry Bonds, and Mark McGwire, allegedly used PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs) to achieve home run records. Currently, the SF Giants legend, Barry Bonds, holds the single-season home run record with 72 HRs in a season. However, Maris Jr. does not consider it an actual record.

Instead, he wants Aaron Judge to hit his 62nd home run and become the real home run champ in MLB. Taking to Twitter, Maris Jr. also quoted his father’s words and said only clean records matter in baseball.

Will Judge be able to surpass Roger Maris’ HR record?

Given he has already smashed 61 home runs this season; Aaron Judge is only one good hit away from getting his 62nd home run of the season and setting a new record in the American League.

However, his recent outings in the ballparks have not been as great as in the last couple of months. And considering the regular season will end in a week, the Yankees slugger might not hit the record-breaking 62nd home run.
