The New York Mets just secured their third straight series win. After some trouble in the off-season with new signings, the team is back stronger than ever. In their last game against the Oakland Athletics, the players stepped up to secure yet another victory for their team. Even though one of them was struggling with some personal issues.

Daniel Vogelbach, designated hitter, has been with the team since July 2022. In August, the 30-year-old became the 11th Mets player to hit a grand slam as his first home run. Although Vogelbach has reportedly been struggling since spring training this year, it looks like the Mets will continue the 2023 season with him. Sometimes, making an appearance for a game means missing out on something else. As such, the DH recently had to miss an event but in return, he made a heartfelt gesture.

Talkin’ Baseball reported that since Vogelbach had to play a game on the same day as a friend’s wedding, he got him a custom-made gift. His cleats, in particular. The DH wore shoes that showcased the wedding invitation on them, which he then proceeded to play the game in.

Even if he couldn’t make it to their special day in person, Vogelbach still wanted to gift them something. So he went completely off the registry and decided to go with shoes! After all, as the saying goes, it’s not the gift but the thought that matters.
