The beloved “Mr. November”, Derek Jeter, might have been swinging between being one of the hottest players of his time or the coolest one out of the diamonds – but one thing is for certain. He is easily one of the most persistent ones. And his persistent self once came out in play in a Saturday Night Live segment, more than two decades back.

A jittery Derek Jeter turning into a successful host of the night!

Derek Jeter was seen talking to a baseball fan in the Instagram post. Speaking about his SNL experience, he said that he had never felt as scared or nervous as ever in his life, before. What brought in the sudden surge of nerves, one might ask?

It was his hosting responsibilities. Back in 2001, the Yankees icon Derek Jeter got the chance to visit the SNL quarters both as the guest star and the host of the show. Despite feeling jittery at the beginning, it all turned out well for the champ at the end of the day.

Derek Jeter has been a part of several other television segments. Some of the notable ones include appearances in This Morning by CBS and Seinfeld. He is currently working as an analyst for Fox Sports. However, the SNL segment seems to hold a special place in the slugger’s heart.

Saturday Night Live didn’t fail to amaze Jeter with their own set of stars

Jeter starred in the show along with celebrities like Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, and Will Pharell. Out of all the TV appearances he has made over the course of his career, he tagged this one as his favorite, by far. He is one of the select group of athletes to play a host in the show. The remaining list includes stars like Deion Sanders, Tom Brady, and Travis Kelce.
