The World Series Fever is high, with the NLCS and ALCS moving forward for a treat as four teams look to make in the final two. Notably, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers are two wins from reaching the ultimate battle. But anything can happen with the New York Mets and Cleveland Guardians chasing; there can be the Yankees vs Dodgers final or a repeat of the 2000 Subway series. What may be the case, it’s going to be fun.

However, as for Derek Jeter, he believes the Pinstripes meeting the Mets can be a better deal. Jeter, with four as a player and one as a captain, has an amazing experience on the big stage. It includes the 2000 championship title that involved the Mets, with Baha Men on their side. Thus, his pieces of advice make sense, although this time, it’s not the seriousness of the situation, but an off-field response with Jerry Seinfeld on the receiving end.

Derek Jeter trolled Jerry Seinfeld and his love for the New York Mets.

Do you know why Derek Jeter was called a one-team man? Well! Because he lived with the New York Yankees throughout his playing career. And the love for the team is still intact, which was visible in his actions after the 2000 incident. The former pinstripes captain shared the incident in the Fox studio. While recalling his interaction with Jerry, the Hall of Famer shared, “I got a quick story with Jerry Seinfeld. We were playing in the Subway Series in 2000, and it was before game 4. I’m leading off the game. And the Mets roll out the Baja Men, and they’re singing who left the dogs out in front of the Mets dugout.”

Jeter further added, “And I just happened to look at Jerry. And I just shook my head. And then we ended up winning that game. We won game 5. I ran into him a couple of years ago. He was telling me the story. I bought a Baja Men CD. I signed it. We both knew it was over after this and sent it to him.” It was certainly a perfect response from Derek Jeter to send a signed copy, reminding an unfavorable end to his favorite rival after five splendid games and it makes sense. However, irrespective of the incident, the legend acknowledges the atmosphere the Mets create. But is more inclined towards their strength. But is that the case currently?

Jeter thinks the Mets are a good team, can they make his understanding right?

The New York Mets are the highest spenders in the league. With an estimated payroll of over 317 million dollars, they are first. However, their performance has not been satisfying much in the regular season and ongoing NLCS. They finished the season at the third spot and now, are lagging in a crucial matchup. But Derek Jeter thinks otherwise.

In the pregame show, the Yankees star shared, “It’s not the Grimace, it’s not the concerts. The Mets have a really really good team.” But the result pointed towards something else. The Metsies lost the third game against the Dodgers 8-0. This was their second loss, this NLCS without a run to their name. If Captain Clutch’s words are to come true, the Mets need to return stronger in the remaining four ties. But will they be able to do so? Only time will tell.
