The 2023 season has marked the 14-year title drought for the New York Yankees, making it the longest in their history. It all happened because of their early exit from the title race after missing out on the playoffs, finishing fourth in the AL East. Given that their last title came in 2009, it was not the best result for them and required a justification that could satisfy this run. But the explanation from Yankees GM Brian Cashman failed to do so.
Notably, a few hours before, Cashman addressed the media in a review of the disaster 2023 season. Given he has overseen both the best and the worst, everyone expected a critical address from him. However, that was not the case. The under-fire ignored all, leaving fans amused with his exaggerated claim of the process over the last few years.

In the MLB history, the New York Yankees are the most successful team. Since its renaming, the New York-based team has won 27 titles to set the benchmark, all other wishes to reach. However, things not have been good for them. They have been winless since 2009 and are under pressure to recover from this slump. But he is not much stressed due to it. Visibly, Cashman did acknowledge the scrutiny but declined to accept it as true and justified his work. While addressing the media, he said,” I’ve been here with the Yankees for a long time. Whether that’s a good thing, what our fans or perception want to say or not, I’m proud of our operation.”
Cashman later added that, “I think we have a great group of baseball people. I think we have a very strong process that has served us well up until what happened this particular season.” He justified the Yankees working with his comments, though it has not gone well with the fans.
