Arizona Diamondbacks are on top of the world. They were once written off, then some called them lucky. But now, after game 7 of NLCS, they have got a new name – ‘National League Winners’. As a team with not a very long history, they have always struggled for support. Despite winning the World Series in 2001, which was less than a decade after their formation, they have always remained an ignored child of Arizona.
It’s not much of a surprise that after their latest triumph, all the fans are finally raising their voices, showing the world that the D-Backs are not going down. So as the world of D-Backs is going through a resurgence, Eric Byrnes, a former D-Back, has some choice words to say to the world.

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the mighty Philadelphia Phillies in NLCS to win a berth to the 2023 World Series. As the MLB fans worldwide looked surprised, there were a few people who were filled with glee. For they had finally got the opportunity to say what they wished they could. One of those is former Diamondbacks outfielder Eric Byrnes. Having played for the Diamondbacks from 2006 to 2009, the former analyst knows a thing or two about being a D-Back.
Thus, after their win against the Phillies, he proceeded to answer the disbelieving fans. “D-Backs are team that nobody knows or gives 2 shits about outside of AZ… Even in AZ they are most peoples 2nd favorite team… As a former D-Back just want to send quick message to rest of baseball world that has no interest in seeing them in the World Series” said Eric.

A lot of anger can be sensed from his words. More than anger, it seems like Eric is feeling a sense of redemption now that the D-Backs have finally made it to the World Series stage after over a decade. Whatever it is, there certainly is a lot of passion in his words. He’s certainly not alone as many D-backs fans have felt this way for years. Finally, they are happy that their team has given them a chance to celebrate and to hit back at their rivals.

Arizona Diamondbacks’ road towards the World Series was tough
In a postgame interview with MLB.com, the team’s manager Torey Lovullo shared how their road to World Series looked like, “Trust me when I say this, there were some real hardships, there were some very dark days in my career, and we lost 110 games two years ago. If you told me I would be coming out of the other side like this, I would understand why I was having to go through that……I wouldn’t trade it for one thing in the world.”
