When the 2022 regular season started, the New York Yankees did not have an impressive roaster. But when the season started, the Yankees surprised everyone with their impressive performances in the first half of the 2022 season.

It was all going very well for the Yanks until the Astros ended their dominant run in the second half. The Astros exposed the weaknesses of the Pinstripes. In the name of Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, the Pinstripes made some pricey trades in the 2022 free agency. But now, when the season is about to end, it seems like the Yankees GM Brian Cashman did not get it right.

Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa are not the only ones whom the New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman got it wrong. Even in the 2018 season, when the Yankees were close to signing Bryce Harper, Cashman did not proceed with the deal.

And now, two years later, fans are mocking Cashman by comparing Bryce Harper’s failed trade with Donaldson and IKF’s expensive deals this year. When talking about numbers, Harper alone has hit four home runs in the postseason, while IKF and Donaldson combined have not hit a single homer in the ongoing postseason.

Taking to Twitter, the New York Yankees fans took digs at Cashman for being rigid with his signings and the failure he has brought to the clubhouse.

A few fans even expressed their desire to get rid of Cashman from the Yankees’ management. Because they believe, Cashman has done more damage to the Yankees than any individual can.

What’s next for the Yankees?

Given the 2022 season is almost over for the New York Yankees, Brian Cashman needs to figure out the best roaster ahead of the 2023 season. Because the Pinstripes are just a defeat away from getting knocked out of the postseason.
