“Even Though This is Your Team..”: Yankees Ace Recalls Special Aaron Judge Call After Historic $360 Million Deal

Ever since the New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge started playing in the big league, he altogether captivated the audience. Although it’s been only seven years since Judge began playing for the Bronx Bombers, he has already become a fan favorite. After giving one great season after another, Judge won the AL MVP and broke the legendary Roger Maris’ record. Even after all this, he had left his fans and teammates in anticipation of whether he would return to the Yankees after testing free agency.

But when he eventually returned, the Yankees slugger put the racing minds of everybody in anticipation to rest. Out of the many people, the one who badly wanted him back was his teammate, Nestor Cortes Jr. In a recent interview with the New York Post, the Yanks ace discussed his excitement when he heard the much-awaited news.

Every Yankee fan was hoping their favorite clubhouse would soon give Judge an offer he deserved, so he’d come back even sooner. With every second that passed, every fan, including Nestor Cortes Jr. was anxious.

The moment the pitcher heard that All Rise had signed the contract with the Yankees, he was beaming with joy. As soon as he got the chance, he called Judge to congratulate him.

Recalling the same, Cortes said, “He’s treated me like a brother here in the last two years. So I was really happy for him when I called him. I said, ‘Hey, congratulations. I’m so happy you’re back. Even though this is your team but I’m happy you’re back.'”

Before the infamous contract signing, the number 99 said that he wanted to remain a Yankee. Notably, almost everybody around him wished for the same.

All Rise still has a long way ahead in his journey as a Yankee. He is yet to win a World Series. While looking at his last year performance, one can easily say that day will come soon.
