Home/F1

Things are taking a turn for good in Major League Baseball. To promote the game of baseball across the globe, the St Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs are playing two-game series in London. Notably, when people are losing their interest in baseball, this initiative from MLB may work wonders for the sport. The ongoing Cubs Vs Cardinals series is special not only because it is happening in the heart of Europe, but legends like Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and David Ortiz are also making an appearance together for FOX Sports.

However, this trio wasn’t the only one who marked their presence at the London Stadium. Instead, it was also two of the eminent F1 McLaren Drivers who made the moment even more special, uniting with baseball legends Derek Jeter and Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.

F1 McLaren Drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris reached the London Stadium with one of their cars and had a blast. Norris, at 23 years old, is one of the best drivers in F1. Whereas, Piastri, at 22, is the youngest, one of the best, and the first F1 racer born in the 21st century. Together, Piastri and Lando make a perfect duo ready to win championships.

Not only did the two F1 stars visit the London Stadium ahead of the Cardinals and Cubs game, but they also tried their hands at it. And surprisingly, Norris happened to be quite good at it. As the F1 racers tried their hand at baseball, West Ham legend Carlton Cole made the Cubs players play some soccer.

Apart from the on-field actions, this London series is set to be a massive hit because of bringing the Yankees legends Jeter and Rodriguez to the same stage.

Why is Derek Jeter uniting with Alex Rodriguez a big deal?

As the 21st century began, the biggest and fiercest rivalry between two MLB players also commenced. And within a couple of years, A-Rod and Jeter went from being best friends to teammates who couldn’t be left alone in a room.

All of it started with some unnecessary comments made by Alex on Jeter upon signing the most lucrative contract in MLB history at the time. It’s been over two decades since then, but the duo has never once happily appeared on television. Hence, Jeter returning to TV as an MLB analyst at Fox with Alex beside him was a big deal.
