The Los Angeles Angels two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani has had a tremendous year this MLB season. With this, he became one of the top contenders to win the 2022 AL MVP. Although the Angels did not make it to the playoffs this year, Ohtani has many things going on to keep him occupied in the off-season.
Last year, the Angels’ phenom became the brand ambassador of cryptocurrency company FTX. The company recently faced a severe liquidity crisis. Now, it has filed for bankruptcy this month, and investors thus lost out on huge amounts. However, what has kept Ohtani occupied this off-season is his chance of playing baseball for Team Japan.

A lawsuit is filed against Ohtani and others. It is for promoting the brand to allure investors to put their money into their brand. The case, filed in a federal district court in Florida, claims that FTX’s former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and the celebrities, who also have NFL quarterback Tom Brady and NBA player Stephen Curry, are responsible for advertising the exchange and causing investors to suffer losses.
Do you think that this whole FTX saga will affect Ohtani’s performance in the upcoming WBC?
