Baseball is a game of wonders and passion. When a kid gets their heart set on something, it becomes a way of their lives. And once that happens, they become a prodigy in their respective field. And that is exactly who Jacob Steinmetz is. The World Baseball Classic is underway and the young phenom has emerged as a dazzling star. The 19-year-old pitcher for Team Israel captured the hearts of baseball fans everywhere with his stunning play on the mound.

After a tough loss to Puerto Rico, Steinmetz remained undeterred and poured his heart and soul into the game. And his efforts paid off in a truly spectacular way, as he struck out some of the biggest players in MLB right now – Manny Machado, Gary Sanchez, and Jeremy Pena who were the top batters of the Dominican Republic.

As Jacob Steinmetz took the mound for his team at the World Baseball Classic, the first run slipped through his fingers. But instead of letting the nerves get to him, he sent the iconic Manny Machado down with a stunning strikeout.

As the innings ticked by, Steinmetz only got better, unleashing his potential against 2022 MVP Jeremy Pena. The slugger stood gaping as the pitches went by. And to make things better, the young sensation added one more strikeout, blowing away Gary Sanchez with ease.

The stunning performance has fans from all over the globe heaping praise on the young prodigy for his incredible feat.

The 19-year-old only has 12 professional games under his belt, and that’s even more incredible because he was thrust into the limelight and brewed a firestorm on the world’s biggest baseball stage!

Jacob Steinmetz’s brief background: 

Jacob Steinmetz was drafted 77th overall in the 2021 Arizona Major League draft, and it’s clear that he’s just getting started. The young phenom began his journey in the world of baseball with the Young Israel of the Woodmere team in the shul league. And though he was accepted at Fordham University on a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 baseball, he decided to pursue his dreams sooner and went to professional baseball instead.

It paid off in a big way, as the sensation landed with the Diamondbacks. And at 17, he threw his first pitch in the minor leagues for the team. And now, the rookie has proved his mettle and the baseball world is sure to see more of Steinmetz in the future!
