In a recent Instagram post, Alex Rodriguez flaunted his bilingual brilliance, reacting to a comment by a fan that said, “had no idea you speak Spanish👍”. He gave a rather detailed explanation in Dominican Spanish about why he didn’t. A-Rod encapsulated his post with a caption in Spanish, “Hola mi gente!” translating to ‘Hello my people!’. 

Despite being born as a US citizen, he does not negate that he is the son of Dominican immigrants. His parents, who have grown up speaking Spanish at home with A-Rod, kept him constantly in touch with the language. What had been lesser known, A-Rod unveiled it, taking his fans by a pleasant surprise.
