“I Don’t Think I’ve Ever Seen That Before”- Dusty Baker Stunned as Houston Astros Tie MLB Record After Smacking Five Home Runs in One Inning

After a few hiccups at the start of the season, the Houston Astros are back to their best. The departure of Carlos Correa affected the Astros in the early games of the season. But the Dusty Baker-led team is once again dominating the American League West.
While playing against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, the Astros smacked five home runs in one inning. With this, they also matched a rare MLB record. The Astros became only the eighth team in MLB history to do so. What is more astounding is that they did it against one pitcher, which makes the Astros only the third team in MLB history to do the same.

On the other hand, the Boston Red Sox had a game to forget. They are already suffering in the current season. And the Astros benefited most of them while playing in the Fenway Park.
Nathan Eovaldi makes MLB history against the Houston Astros
The Red Sox ace, Nathan Eovaldi, pitched a fine first inning in the game. He even entered the second inning with a 1-0 lead. But things did not work for Eovaldi in the second inning. The Red Sox right-handed ace made the wrong kind of history for his team, as he allowed five home runs in the second inning.
The Red Sox, who were leading by 1-0, instantly, were trailing by 9-1 after the second inning. Yordan Alvarez, who is in the form of his life, led the attack. He belted his 12th home run of the season, followed by home runs from Kyle Tucker, Jeremy Pena, Michael Brantley, and Yuli Gurriel.

Reacting to this game, the Astros manager Dusty Baker said that he had never seen something like that. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before,” said Baker. “I’ve had some good teams, played on some good teams. But … that was a first right there.”

Notably, the Astros did not play their best game in the first two weeks of the season. But under the guidance of Dusty Baker, the Astros have found their way back to being the best.
With 24 wins out of 37 games, the Astros are at the top of the AL West. However, in the name of the LA Angels, they have a tough competitor in their division. Unlike the previous few seasons, the Angels are having a good season in 2022.
