“I Have a PhD in Failing, but…” – Baseball Legend Alex Rodriguez Shares About the Art of a Comeback at a Special Event

Alex Rodriguez understands the ebb and flow of the life of a sportsperson. Using his experiences from the baseball field, however, he has invested in a plethora of businesses, including real estate, technology, and sports. In order to continue learning, A-Rod often attends business forums and shares his experiences with the community. The ex-Yankees star recently registered his presence at the New York Conference, being hosted by SALT in collaboration with iConnections.

The event was attended by more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, policy experts, and others. Rodriguez also shared how he learned from his failures to become a better business owner. What else did the MLB legend say? Let’s find out.

Alex Rodriguez shared some valuable tips he learned from baseball at the conference!

SALT is a thought leadership forum focused on innovation and investing, and it works globally. On the other hand, iConnections is a financial technology platform connecting asset allocators and investment managers. Rodriguez spoke at the event and shared his experience as a baseball player. He focused on the lessons and shared that failure is part of success.

The organizers also shared a post on their Instagram page of him as a speaker. The caption read, “A-Rod’s ability to overcome failure on the baseball diamond has proven invaluable as he’s entered the business world. A fantastic conversation alongside Marc Lasry and Anthony @scaramucci to kick off SALT iConnections New York.”

Rodriguez mentions that even though he has failed many times, he has found a way to fight back. Rodriguez focused on his art of making coming backs and said, “So I always tell my little girls like I have a Ph.D. in failing, but I also have a master in getting back up. And I think in business, that’s one of my greatest competitive advantages is that I understand how to deal with failure.”  

A-Rod has a plan worth billions of dollars!

A-Rod has been investing since his playing days and now owns different businesses. The latest is in sports, where he made his first investment but a big one. Rodriguez currently is the co-owner of the NBA team, Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, the former shortstop is looking to take another significant step. He has plans to take on the global stage by investing in leagues involving sports like cricket, and football, among others. The objective of the conference is to connect intellectual capital with investment capital. It would be interesting to see how his plans take shape.
