It has been a poor season for the New York Yankees. The team has struggled against most of the teams. One of them was their arch-rival, the Boston Red Sox. And when the Yankees traveled to Fenway Park, with a record of 1-8, everyone thought it to be another disappointing day at the Yankees’ office. But they proved everyone wrong with a first doubleheader win against the Red Sox this season.

The Yankees proved too hot for the Sox, who looked confident in all previous meetings. And the major reason behind it was a great outing from struggling Carlos Rodon. He not only proved his critics wrong, but also helped the Yankees play at their best to create records since 2006.

Carlos Rodon Helps New York Yankees Enter Their Name Into History Books

It was a great night for the Yankees supporters. They saw a complete team effort against the Sox to win the needed series to sustain themselves and prepare for the future. They beat the Sox with a score of 3-2 in the first game and 4-1 in the second to win the doubleheader and the first series of the season against their arch-rivals.

Notably, with this win, the New York Yankees broke their previous record of sweeping the doubleheader. It is the first time since 2006 they have swept a doubleheader at Fenway Park. Carlos Rodon, who has been under tremendous pressure after his poor performances, played a prominent role in the game. The $162 Million star pitched in five innings and allowed only one run. He also claimed nine strikeouts while allowing one run.

It was also a big day for skipper Aaron Boone, who won the 500th game as the Yankees Skipper. However, the skipper did not look pretty happy. He wished that the win would have come a month back. Still, it is a great win, and fans are certainly happy.
