The New York Yankees don’t have the rub of the green at the moment. While the resurgent Pinstripes are making waves with their recent displays on the diamond and making their way back into the conversation for October contention, they remain outside contenders at best. The players have shouldered a majority of the blame for their failures this season but several fans also held manager Aaron Boone accountable for it. And it isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone has on several occasions been held responsible for the faltering Yankees. Despite clinching the AL East title as recently as last season, he has copped a lot of criticism for his selection and general roster composition in 2023. No one can blame him for trying to be optimistic, but his recent outings in the media haven’t helped too much with the fans either.

New York Yankees Manager Is Proven Wrong, Again

Speaking in a press conference prior to the Yankees follow up in their double header against arch rivals, the Boston Red Sox, Boone made some startling revelations. Despite the weather not being ideal for a ball game, Boone seemed to believe that it would clear up soon.

September isn’t always the best conditions for a ball game. With most of the northern states seeing fall set in, snow and rain are frequent problems for most fixtures. Despite his almost rabid optimism about the game continuing as normal, it seems Boone has little control over the elements.

However, despite his best intentions, the weather gods did not relent. And as a result the game was decided to have a delayed start with the Yankees official account also announcing the same. “The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, at 1:35pm. Tomorrow’s regularly scheduled game remains at 7:15pm”, they wrote.

Ever the most understanding fanbase, the Bronx fans took to social media to voice their opinions of the entire situation and how it had turned out.

New York Yankees Fans React to Manager’s Opinions

The Yankees are on a resurgent run. Despite at one point being on the end of a potentially losing season, they have fought back tooth and nail. Enough even to bring themselves close to post season qualification. It remains to be seen if the Pinstripes can actually make it there, but the fans are not giving up yet.

That means little however, for the support they lend to manager Aaron Boone over his choices and decisions, particularly when he speaks about the potential fixture and weather around it. And they made it known.

Other Yankees fan chose to direct their anger in a different direction, choosing to go after Boston instead.

But one fan perhaps summed it up better than anyone around.

The Yankees will be looking to make the most of their remaining fixtures. While up against tough opposition, the post-season now looks to be within grasp for the team. With momentum on their side, you never know what surprises they could throw up. But for now, they’ll have their eyes trained on Boston and Fenway Park next.
