FanNation reports that the New York Yankees could make a massive trade move toward the White Sox pitcher. ESPN previously reported that Dylan Cease comes with a high asking price. The White Sox were clever with their patience, waiting for bigger names like Yoshinobu Yamamoto to be picked off the market so that they could clinch a high-value trade partner who needs a pitching talent like Cease. The Yankees turned out to have the exact fate that the White Sox were waiting for.

Although the Pinstripes might need to trade top prospects from their farm system, Cease’s potential might make it worth it. The team currently has Augustin Ramirez, Everson Pereira, and Chase Hampton playing for them. They can be a perfect fit for the White Sox trade to go through.

Steve Adams and Anthony Franco of MLB Trader Rumors have predicted Cease will fetch an $8.8 million contract through arbitration for the next year. Cease struck out 214 this year, with an average ERA of 4.58. However, his previous season’s record of 2.20 ERA across 227 strikeouts indicates that he has a promising future ahead. He just needs to take better care of his form.
