It was a high-scoring game between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees had a first loss in their last six games. They remain third in the AL East rankings, six-game behind the top-placed Tampa Bay Rays. Amidst the loss, Isiah Kiner-Falefa. who often gets criticized for his poor outings, made his opportunity count and had a great game.

After the close contest, taking positives from his performance, Kiner-Falefa shared his honest take on the previous season. And his comments have received positive reactions from the fans.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa accepts that he could not make most of the opportunities last season

Performance indeed matters a lot in every sport. It also takes a lot to accept own mistakes. Isiah Kiner-Falefa, setting up an example, not only accepted his mistakes of last season but also shared his plans for the current season. After a brilliant performance against the Orioles, Isiah said, “I don’t think my numbers last year were good enough to hold the spot. It is what it is. I didn’t do good enough last year. I was given another opportunity to be here, so I’m just trying to do everything I can to show what I can do and prove why I’m here.”

Notably, Isiah finished the 2022 season with 66 runs to his credit at an average of 0.261 and an OPS of 0.642. He struck only four home runs after being at bat 483 times. Even though his average has gone down this season, but has three home runs. He has been hitting well lately and has come in handy in the last five games with four wins. Though there is still work to do for him, fans have loved Isiah’s reaction after the game.
