However, one alleged incident ruined his legacy in Major League Baseball.
Recently, the Phillies honored Pete Rose for his immense contribution to the NL side for winning the World Series title in the 1980 MLB season. Notably, Rose played an instrumental role in winning the silverware for the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies celebrated the 40th anniversary of their 1980th World Series win this week.

Notably, the ceremony was supposed to be held in 2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it got postponed by two years. The Phillies also invited the key member of the 1980th World Series winning squad, Pete Rose. However, this event came into the mainstream media after Pete Rose gave a shocking response to a 55-year-old incident.
Pete Rose tried his best to avoid the controversial question
Notably, Pete Rose made his appearance in the Citizens Bank Park for the first time in 33 years since MLB banned him from the sport in 1989. 81-year-old former MLB hit king also received a standing ovation from the Phillies fans during the ceremony.

Everything was going fine until a reporter asked him about his infamous alleged sexual misconduct case. Per the New York Post, Rose preferred not to answer the most asked question about him. Because it may have created more controversies regarding the said incident.
It was Alex Coffey of the Philly Inquirer who asked for a response from Rose on the controversial incident. But the Phillies legend did not have an answer, and he tried his best to avoid the question.
