A piece of astonishing news has been in the headlines recently. The news is related to the five times World Champion and Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. The shortstop built this house in 2011. Then lived in this mansion with his family before moving to South Florida for good. The Davis Islands’ mansion has also earned the title of ‘Tampa Bay’s most expensive home.’

Not only this, but the mansion also became a local landmark when the NFL star Tom Brady rented it before his first season with the Buccaneers. Therefore, watching the beautiful house go to rubble is not going to be easy for the people living around it. And also for those who have come to the Davis Islands just to see the beautiful mansion where both the legends once lived.

What do the neighbors have to say about the once home of Derek Jeter?

The baseball legend Derek Jeter sold this house last year for $22.5 million, but people still come around to have a look at the house. The people living near the former Jeter mansion are definitely not at all happy about the demolition in process and are also vocal about it.

The neighbor Frank Ryon thinks, “Well, I think it’s just a big waste of money in the way.”

Are people still coming to see the house Jeter once lived in?

There is a neighbor present who used to have his driveway full of people coming to watch Jeter’s house or even catch a glimpse of the shortstop himself.

“I heard the news they were gonna demolish the mansion. I wanted one last look at it. Fan of Tom Brady and Derek Jeter, so, kind of nostalgic, I guess,” said Rob Nicholson, who came from California just to have one last look at the beautiful mansion.
