Uprooted, a Twitter handle, quoted Donaldson, “Oakland gets perceived as a small market because of what the team is willing to put out there. One of the wealthiest owners in all of baseball owns the A’s.” Moreover, Donaldson also had his take on the frequent trade deals that happened in the past.

While addressing it as a fan, he added, ” As a fan and as a fanbase, you can only see your favorite player traded so many times through your generation.” Having played for Athletics for only four years, Donaldson’s comments indicate towards the infamous trade that pushed him out of the team. Not only this, A’s have traded many star players in the past without signing alternatives. Notably, this could be a big reason for A’s poor performances in the last few years.

Currently, Josh Donaldson is struggling in New York with an average of below 0.150 and is infamous among the Yankees fans. But, given he had a successful time at Oakland, A’s fans still love him.
