The game was well-contested and saw the Pitchers’ domination. Justin Verlander had a great outing. He pitched in eight innings and finished the game with five strikeouts at an ERA of 3.6. His counterpart, Shane Bieber, had an impressive performance and claimed four strikeouts as well. But because of a lack of support from the offense, his effort fell short of the win.

It was the effort from Lindor at the crux moment which put the Mets at the level. Then a hit from Starling Marte put the Mets ahead in the eighth innings. After that, the Guardians failed to equalize in the ninth, which put the game to bed in favor of the Mets. The win gave Mets fans a moment to cheer, and they expressed it wholeheartedly.
