The New York Mets are having a great time on the field. This Sunday, they completed the sweep over the Cleveland Guardians. Their second consecutive series win this season. With five wins in their last five games, the Buck Showalter-led team is now second in the NL East standings, only five games behind the group leaders Atlanta Braves.

It was a low-scoring game because of brilliant pitching. The Mets required a home run from Cleveland’s former star to win it. Fans came alive with this performance of the team and registered their reactions after a thumping victory over the Guardians.

The game was well-contested and saw the Pitchers’ domination. Justin Verlander had a great outing. He pitched in eight innings and finished the game with five strikeouts at an ERA of 3.6. His counterpart, Shane Bieber, had an impressive performance and claimed four strikeouts as well. But because of a lack of support from the offense, his effort fell short of the win.

It was the effort from Lindor at the crux moment which put the Mets at the level. Then a hit from Starling Marte put the Mets ahead in the eighth innings.
