The NBA playoffs are currently going on and are attracting a lot of crowds. The Minnesota Timberwolves co-owner Alex Rodriguez is also a big NBA fan and is seen in attendance during the games. Even though the Timberwolves could not make it to the later stages of the playoffs, it has not stopped Miami-born Rodriguez from showing his love for the game.

Rodriguez has spent his childhood in Miami since relocating with his family, at the age of four. He also played baseball for the Westminster Christian High School, which is in Miami, eventually kicking his baseball career. Thus, his love for the NBA team, Miami Heat, is natural and his latest story related to their game against the New York Knicks shows the same.

Rodriguez has always shared posts and stories, giving a glimpse of his life to fans. In the latest event, he shared the story during the break between the Heat and the Knicks, showing his attendance. It was the sixth game between the two NBA teams and the crucial win. With the win in this game, Miami clinched the conference semifinals and also created history by becoming the second No. 8 seed ever, to reach the conference finals. They beat Knicks 96-92 to claim this record.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez’s Minnesota Timberwolves finished the season in eighth in the Western Conference, clinching the playoffs position. In the 2022-23 season, Timberwolves registered 42 wins and 40 losses, at 0.512 at the eighth position in the Western Conference. They then beat Oklahoma Thunder to set up their matchup with the Denver Nuggets. But in the battle of the playoffs, they lost out to the Denver Nuggets.

Alex Rodriguez partnered with Marc Lore in 2021 for the Minnesota Timberwolves deal, valued at $1.5 billion. The payment was made over three installments, the latest was in 2022. The timeline of the installments done with the percentage of ownership is 20% by July 2021, 20% more by the end of 2022, and the final 40% by March 2024. This deal helped the MLB legend to enter the sports business, fulfilling his dream of owning an NBA team.
