It was a great last month in the MLB with cross-sports interaction. It happened when two sports icons, Mookie Betts and LeBron James, synced with each other during an MLB game as the Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Miami Marlins. Betts saluted James at his presence, while the latter acknowledged with his cap off. And the latest month has started on the same note, with the Dodgers sharing a tribute to the NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

While the Dodgers took on the Atlanta Braves, they shared the tribute before a special person took over the mound to throw a ceremonial pitch to Mookie Betts, who was seen adoring the lost legend heart out as the teams entered the stadium for the game.

The game between the Dodgers and the Braves was already significant, as the top two teams were set to meet. However, the Dodgers made the night even more special by paying a heartfelt tribute to the legend. Adding more to the case, Bryant’s oldest daughter, Natalia, joined the proceedings on the night remembering his father. Reporter Michael J. Duarte shared this information, Dodgers with a Kobe Bryant tribute video before his oldest daughter, Natalia, throws the ceremonial first pitch to Mookie Betts.”

Notably, Betts was seen cherishing Bryant before the game. He entered the stadium in a tee with Legend’s photo. The Dodgers shared an Instagram post related reading “Reppin’ Kobe for Lakers Night.” It was a great move from the MLB side.

Later in the stadium, Metts not only faced the ceremonial pitch but also had an emotional moment when he adored Kobe Bryant’s family.

It made the fans nostalgic, who embraced his move and wished Betts all the luck. But things did not go as planned for the Dodgers.

They could not repeat their success and lost the second game of the series. Not only this, the Dodgers outfielder also failed to score a run and lost another battle against his counterpart, Ronald Acuna Jr.

It was the second game of the series between the top teams from the NL division. Both are currently leading their groups, likely to make it to the playoffs. Moreover, their star players are also in competition with each other for the MVP award. And as Betts and Acuna met again, it was expected to be a fiery fight.

The game progressed similarly after Acuna scored two runs and a home run. He bettered his counterpart Betts with another solid outing to take a step closer to the MVP award.
But as two games are yet to be played in the series, it would be interesting to see whether Betts taking inspiration from Bryant catches him up. Will he be able to do so? What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments.
