However, a recent visit from a top NBA prospect at Yankee Stadium brought some smiles to the disappointed Pinstripes fans.

Notably, 19-year-old basketball sensation Victor Wembanyama started the proceedings between the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners. What caught everyone’s eyes was when Victor, a 7’4” basketball star, stood next to the 5’11” Yankees catcher in the ballpark.

The first pitch in every game holds great importance, especially during special events. The same happened when Victor Wembanyama performed his duty as the first pitcher of the day. He was possibly his first time on the mound, even though he missed the line, but was good to go for the day.

The incident after that had interesting reactions from the Yankees skipper as Victor engaged with the fans in the stands. Jomboy Media shared the clip of this episode. The caption read, “Boone reacting to Victor Wembanyama throw baseballs.”

After doing his job, Victor spent his time with the players. One of them was Jose Trevino, with whom he even clicked a picture. Notably, it came before the NBA draft, which will be the next test. The French player is expected is join the San Antonio Spurs as they hold the number one pick. Given that he has scored 20 points on average on the baseball court, he promises to be a great addition to the NBA. But before showing his strength on the court, the 19-year-old has shown his skills on the mound. And as things unfolded, the Yankees’ fans got the first chance to react to his first professional performance on US soil.
