The honeymoon phase seems to have come to screeching halt for the New York Yankees. After a stellar 5-0 start, their bats went cold in a dull 7-0 defeat to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Tuesday night. On one hand, a single loss does not necessarily spell doom. On the other, the Yankees’ offensive struggles have the fans spiraling. Is this a sign of trouble brewing in the Bronx?
After the dip of the Yankees’ early season dominance, Arizona’s ace Zac Gallen rose to the spotlight. The Bronx Bombers could make measly three hits and struck out a staggering eight times. Apart from Gallen too, other factors point toward the loosened screws of offense with the Yankees.

The concerning lack of production from the Yankees’ usual offensive leaders such as Anthony Rizzo was shocking. He batted .182, while Giancarlo Stanton’s three strikeouts added to his already scary total of 11 Ks in merely 21 at-bats. Not only that, even Aaron Judge, was seen finding his rhythm after a Spring Training injury. He remained quiet at the plate, going 0-for-3 with a walk and a paltry .125 batting average.
FINAL: Diamondbacks 7, Yankees 0.

Though the struggles are real, Manager Aaron Boone is patient and optimistic. He assured, “The physical tools are still there [for Stanton] to get it rolling.” Boone further spoke about Judge, echoing the same emotion. His words were, that it “is just a matter of time” till he gets back to his dominant self.
