It has been a rough start to the season for the San Diego Padres. They are currently fourth in the NL West Standings, eight games behind the table toppers Los Angeles Dodgers. Fans were already not happy with the team for performing poorly, and news related to the broadcasting comes as another disappointment for them.

According to the reports, Bally Sports, led by the Diamond Sports Group, has moved out of the broadcasting contract. It puts the fans in a lurch, even though MLB has taken over the broadcasting rights, it has not satisfied the fans. Fans have registered to the news and have taken on both the parties involved in the deal!

MLB takes control of San Diego Padres broadcasting rights!

The news of Bally Sports moving away from the contract comes as a surprise for many. Talkin’ Baseball shared this news about the fallout of the broadcasting deal. Quoting Alden Gonzalez, they shared, Tonight will be the last Padres game on Bally Sports, as Diamond Sports Group has declined to pay the Padres their rights fee MLB will likely take control of Padres broadcasts for now”

The fallout happened after Bally Sports failed to give the rights fees to the Padres. They claimed this deal was against their interests and did not see it as profitable in the longer run. Meanwhile, MLB has taken over the broadcasting rights. The first week of the deal will have free access for all the fans, and after that, it will be on a subscription basis.

According to the reports, fans can access the games through monthly and yearly plans. The first will be for $19.99/month and another  $74.99/year on the official site of the MLB. Reports also suggest that there is also a deal with some cable providers to broadcast games.

Fans are happy as Bally Sports falls out of the deal!
