Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez once had a surprise visit from a pop music megastar. That wasn’t just anyone, but his then lady love Jennifer ‘J-Lo’ Lopez. The incident happened when ‘A-Rod’ was amidst a live baseball game commentary. ‘J-Lo’ came, along with Rodriguez’s daughters, and a birthday cake. 

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is an iconic former baseball player, most remembered for achieving towering success in the New York Yankees jersey. He is equally famous for his starry relationships. Whereas Jennifer ‘J-Lo’ Lopez is a celebrity singer with worldwide popularity. They briefly dated for four years, got engaged in 2019, but parted ways in 2021.

Both ‘A-Rod’ and ‘J-Lo’ share birthdays in the same month. That too, with only a three-day gap. While Lopez’s birthday is on July 24th, Rodriguez’s birthday happens to be on July 27th. How could they stay away from celebrating? So ‘J-Lo’ once decided to surprise her then-fiance.

The day was July 28th, 2019. Meaning, a day after Rodriguez’s birthday that year. But none was stopping Lopez from crashing into the commentary booth at Fenway Park. Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez was commentating a live game along with fellow commentators Jessica Mendoza and Matt Vasgersian. The game was between baseball’s famous arch-rivals, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees.

‘J-Lo’ entered the commentary booth at Fenway Park with Rodriguez’s daughters. They took along a large rectangular cake. Everyone in the booth wished Rodriguez on his birthday, albeit a belated one. Funny enough, the cake had no names mentioned. A fact that Matt Vasgersian pointed out with a laugh. 

Interestingly, July 24th, 2019, marked Lopez’s 50th Birth Anniversary. A grand celebration marked the special occasion. They organized the event at Gloria Estefan’s Star Island Miami Home. Many celebrity guests were in attendance.

It’s been awesome. Honestly, I can’t have one more cake until next summer.” 

After the split

‘A-Rod’ and ‘J-Lo’ separated in 2021. ‘J-Lo’ soon reunited with her old flame Ben Affleck and tied the knot in 2022. Meanwhile, ‘A-Rod’ is busy with his business endeavors and broadcasting work. He also takes care of his daughters.
