Trea Turner, who had struggled initially, redeemed himself when it mattered the most and help his team win a big game against a strong side like the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Trea Turner had to face boos from his mother after his strikeout today.

It was a see-saw game for the Phillies Shortstop. Initially, he struggled to make an impact but played a critical role at the end and helped in his team’s win. Amidst the struggles on the plate, Turner got booed by his fans and loved ones. After the game, Turner shared that his mother also booed him after his strikeout earlier in the game. Tim Kelly shared the clip of Turner’s media interaction on his Twitter account.

Answering the question of boos from fans, Turner said, “Oh, they don’t bother me. My mom prepared me for anything in this, in this game, or in this world. So she was tough on me from an early age, and not much faced me so.”

Turner added that his mother shared her thoughts on the game and said, “She told me today she was booing me. She actually texted me and said, you know, good game except for your 4th of that. And I said, yeah, not a good one. And she said I was booing you. So yeah, she’s one of the reasons why I’m here.” Meanwhile, Turner finished the game with an average of 0.200 and an OPS of 1.000. He scored a run and had two RBIs to his name.
