Well, it’s easy to say ‘sports is life’ but difficult to adapt. Amidst the vibrant 2023 MLB season, the baseball world confronts the stark reality of life—a departure marked by loss, sorrow, and anguish that touches everyone. Although the baseball community had to battle through multiple waves of pain, the loss of former MLB coach Pat Corrales has further increased it.

Corrales was a former catcher who played for nine years in the MLB whose coaching, mentoring, and managing abilities made him a lovable personality. At 82, his passing comes as a surprise to the MLB community, including the Atlanta Braves’ current coach, Eddie Pérez. It was visible in their their heartwarming tributes to 1995 World Series Champion coach, who leaves behind a legacy that will motivate upcoming generations.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Extend Their Condolences to the Family of Their Beloved Pat Corrales

Pat Corrales gave his baseball brain and his effort for the success of many teams. It includes a solid tenure of 16 years with the Braves with a record 14 straight division titles and a World Series championship. Until his demise, Pat was working as a Special Assistant to the Dodgers General Manager.

Given that the Dodgers are doing great this season, much of it was due to his effort. And his loss is humongous for the NL West leaders. Reflecting the same on their social media post, they wrote, “The Los Angeles Dodgers are saddened by the passing of Pat Corrales, the Dodgers Special Assistant to the General Manager. Our thoughts are with his wife Donna and the rest of the Corrales family.”

Given that Corrales worked with many teams, his passing away saddened many. It includes Eddie Perez, who played under Corrales at Braves and is now heading a similar position to his in the same team. While remembering the demised, Perez wrote, “It hurts me a lot losing him because I wish I could have seen him more in Atlanta. I wish I could have seen him more with this team. I’m going to miss him a lot.”
